RSS Feed

Do You Know About This RSS Feed Thing?

I just discovered it and I know I’m a bit behind the times here but…

This
is a little trick that I’m sure the vast majority of you are aware of,
but I’ll share for the sake of the few who aren’t….including little ole me. I have to share with you how much it’ll help your day
to day workflow!

If you have tons of different blogs and sites that
you check out all the time…Maybe even multiple times a day, checking
to see if they’ve been updated.  With RSS, your automatically tell you
browser will automatically let you know when you’ve got new entries.

You set it up like this….

1.  First see if the website has RSS enabled.  In Safari, you’ll see a blue RSS box in the right side of the address bar.

On many blogs you’ll see a "subscribe to this blog" button

Click on either of those buttons and you’ll go to a new page where you can choose to subscribe via email or RSS.

Simply create a new bookmark folder (perhaps called "blogs" or RSS)
and drag  the website (from the  address bar)  into the new folder.
Then go ahead and put all the blogs or sites that enable RSS into that
folder.  Then whenever a new entry is uploaded to one of those blogs a
number will appear in parenthesis letting you know.
